The winner of the GRANT 2023 from the ASINO Foundation is Dr. Valeria di Caro, research fellow at the Department of Neuroscience, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences at the University of Verona.
Dr. Di Caro carries out clinical and research work at the Neurosurgery Unit B of the AOUI in Verona, where she studies cognitive and motor deficits in neuro-oncological patients.
The research project that won her the grant aims to develop an innovative approach for the assessment of motor deficits in neuro-oncology patients by combining 3D analysis of movement kinematics and neuroimaging techniques..
The aim of the research will be to characterise the abnormalities of voluntary movements resulting from tumour lesions and identify the brain regions involved in motor control.
